As a poor skint student most of my snoops are about saving money, mainly on food and I didn’t used to go to Pret a Manager for food on the go because it was too expensive.
That’s all changed with the meal deals and their hearty soups I am a little bit addicted to now the weather has changed and I need something hot and filling for lunch.
They do a soup and a sandwich for under five pounds which is actually a really good deal. Where can you get a fresh healthy hearty lunch for under five quid. Even a baked potato from a spud van costs more than that.
If you opt for drinks too the bill jumps quickly the smoothies ad on an extra £3.75 delicious but special occasions only and a can of juice also about £2.50 so these are things I skip. I always have a water bottle from home so never buy water in a place like Pret, my top money saving tip. Water in a sandwich shop means you’ll always pay a massive premium.
If I am feeling flush I have been trying to branch with the salad bowls, a bit more expensive at £6.99 but surprisingly hearty and filling. They do a smaller side salad with the same butternut squash and roasted pepper, chickpea ingredients which you can do with the soup again for under five pounds.
Pret used to be that aspirational sandwiches on the go place where you needed a £10-£15 budget for lunch, not anymore, they have made their brand way more accessible to younger people now too.
And I really like all the work they do donating food at the end of the day, helping the homeless and ex offenders get a new start in work, so all in all a great company I think.
Try the food, it’s really good. Shout out to Tsetsi in Chelsea always helps me out. And the crew at Pret in Berkley Square near Uni. I always try to help out the big issue guy here. Even if it’s just stopping and saying hello.
Final note I stopped using the app because the rewards were basically rubbish. The apps good if you drink like 3 cups of coffee a day or are shopping for a whole load of people but for me wasn’t worth the hassle.
