Duty Free Shopping - The Best Thing About Travelling Jet 2

When we flew we got an extra 30% off on Jet 2

We went to America at Easter, flew Virgin and couldn’t believe it when we discovered there was no duty free shopping on board. All part of the holiday vibe having a shop in duty free.

Jet 2 on the other hand, who I’d have expected to have a rubbish duty free selection was the complete opposite. In fact the duty free shopping in the on board magazine was brilliant. The variety of products especially in the beauty section was great, quite a few things I’d never heard of to try and some lucky dip like selections where for a discounted price you got a whole array of travel size products to try for a reduced price which I thought was a great idea and offering.

The perfume selection was OK, more run of the mill fragrances like Marc Jacob’s, Boss and Paco Rabanne but if your preference is something well known you’ll be OK and the flight attendants had open bottles available for you to test so that was good too.

My advice would be don’t wait until you return journey. A couple of things I didn’t get thinking I’d purchase on the return weren’t available by the time we were coming back, obviously all the stock had been snapped up by the outbound passengers, taking advantage of the summer sale now in giving an additional 30% off the already very competitive tax free prices.

Flying Jet 2 from the UK, was not too bad. The queues we managed to avoid by arriving at the airport early. The food wasn’t brilliant onboard, but even if you are on a scheduled flight sitting in first class the food can be ropey so didn’t expect too much here.

We did buy the scratch cards onboard too which was fun, the incentive the scratch card money was going to charity and we did win, £20 to spend on board. More Duty Free.

The Duty Free on board shopping was the highlight for me. I’d recommend anyone travelling Jet 2 this summer, don’t go mad in the airport. Save some of your cash to splash on board.

Best part of the flight for me.
