You only know what you know and in the event of a roadside blow out you are definitely at the mercy of online brokers that offer a much more expensive emergency service if you don’t know who to call out directly.

I did end up paying a premium by using Zaman Recovery is association with Mobile Tyre Buddy who I found through a Google search, their business is to act as a broker and direct the business out to independent mobile tyre repairers like Ernest for about a £100 premium. Obviously I wouldn’t have found or known about Safe Road Tyres without the help of Mobile Tyre Buddy or Zaman recovery and they were polite, helpful and quick but a big saving can be made by calling direct to the company that actually fixes the tyre.

I am writing this to advise people to put Safe Road Tyres information in a safe place should you find yourself stuck in the middle of nowhere in the Leicestershire, Northampton area with a blown out tyre. They can actually also help you nationally if you find yourself with a blow out across the UK.

The service from Tyre Repair Buddy was effective, they promised service from 30 - 60 minutes. Ernest arrived in about 1 hour and 15 minutes later which was still amazingly quick, just not quite as quick as the online broker promised but hey, not quibbling over 15 minutes.

The service received throughout from both companies was friendly, efficient and quick.

Within less than 15 minutes Ernest, from Safe Road Tyres had the car jacked up, the old tyre off and the new one on. It was a brand new replacement tyre not a secondhand one and the old tyre was taken away by the company, I wasn’t left with the job of disposing of it.

I did try ringing the RAC beforehand. The wait time was several hours. In the hot weather because of the volume of breakdowns they were advising customers stranded at home (not in my case) the wait for someone to attend was over 24 hours, i.e. the next day.

I also tried another local independent business I use all the time who do offer a booked call out service K T Tyres these guys I know well and I would recommend to anyone, been using them for years but they didn’t have my particular tyre in stock and couldn’t get one until later in the afternoon. I would recommend their tyre service if it wasn’t an emergency, fast friendly and always a really good deal.
