I met Emma yonks ago at Burghley Horse trials, we chatted, I bought a load of her gorgeous soap and we mulled over the challenges of going out on your own and attempting to build a small brand, something I have tackled in the past, selling homemade Christmas tree decorating kits and failed. Emma explained getting her prices right and marketing, people knowing about her was the hardest part.
First off her soap is wonderful, probably the best soap I have ever used and I’ve been fortunate to have been gifted a lot of hand milled soap.
Emma’s story like many other independent manufacturers, she could not find the kind of soap she wanted, kind to skin, kind to the planet, free from all the Paraben nasties and perfect for children.
I wanted to write this snoop to let everyone know about Emma’s quest to bring the best product to everyone for a fair, I think good value price. And like many businesses the more you buy the cheaper it gets.
We all gift soap at the holidays so instead of doing what you always do, going to Boots for another Dove gift set, step off the beaten track, try the road less travelled and see what magic turns up when you ask Emma’s soaps to fill your stockings instead. The cutest thing, she hand wraps every bar in a scrap of pretty fabric, off cuts she recycles. The Shea butter soap smells beautiful so I keep a couple of bars in my lingerie drawer which is always useful if I have an unexpected overnight guest and need an extra bar of soap in the spare bathroom.
FYI top tip. I always have a few bars of Emma’s soap handy for that unexpected visitor, I love sharing the story of two women bonding in a moment of shared experience and afterwards her products living up to all she had told
Me as I used them.
Pass it on.
