I've been going to the Greenberry Cafe for years, at least once a month, sometimes 3 or 4 times a month. They make the best chips in London for a start off and the vibe is so cool you might catch a chill.
You'll be greeted by Jack, who'll plant a couple of kisses on each cheek once he considers you a good customer, Georges who may ignore you or Bastion, the french actor who will tell you about his latest role or exciting audition. The same staff have been running this older than Primrose Hill establishment for years, where the celebrities who reside around the joint adorn the walls in black and white and you might just bump into if you are lucky.
My friends tell me they mix the best cocktails, the Expresso Martini has been awarded "Best in London" and always comes in an extra large martini glass so you never need more than one.
The food is to die for and not expensive. Blankets and heaters are available for outside on street dining where the people watching is as good as the food.
It's a very special place I love being a regular, there's something amazing about the welcome, being ushered in when the queue extends down regents park road and no one quite knows why you have got preferential treatment.
Tip big boys you get better service. There is a discretionary service charge added to your bill but the staff go over and above not just to get your food out quickly but to share a funny story and make you laugh at no extra charge.
The Greenberry cafe really is a special place. If you are in the neighbourhood pop in and see the gang. Try the avocado salsa or the Endive salad with extra pecans. They'll know who recommended you.
