My advice leave it on the shelf.
When I see something new, quick, easy and healthy in the super market I am a customer. I love to cook, I hate to wash up so unless I have guests or it’s the weekend I rely on quick, simple, healthy and tasty.
Who ever did the taste test on this latest taste of Asia offering from Marks and Spencer’s doesn’t know what good food tastes like and it’s not just me, two of us tried it and neither could eat it.
I didn’t have anything else as an alternative. So instead of throwing it all away and going to the chip shop we both sat there getting it down saying this is like when you go to someone’s house as a guest you don’t know, they serve you a meal and you just have to eat it to be polite. That was the experience.
It was sticky rice, it did have green vegetables, kale, cabbage, mushrooms, all which should have been fine. Sadly the whole thing had been doused in something repulsive, spicy hot yes but not in a good way. The horribleness enveloped the whole dish of stodgy stuck together rice and limp greens.
No point mentioning the 500 calorie count or the plant based status or indeed the price. If this is the best a massive supermarket can do I suggest M and S taste of asia kitchen you give up attempting to make a tasty healthy quick meal for one.
We are not fussy eaters or spoiled. We have both travelled and eaten good (and terrible) food all over the place. We can both pretty much get down anything.
It’s great to see a plant based vegan choice although you aren’t going to get everyone eating healthy when it tastes like this. We threw away half.
