I am a bit like comedian Larry David when it comes to Uber, he says he’s rarely taken one and when he has, he’d had to get his wife or daughter to help him.
I drive everywhere so have never really had a need to use Uber but then I went to the US, didn’t hire a car and completely got into the service, which was way cheaper than regular taxis and much faster service.
I know young people use them all the time, part of the smart phone age but for older customers used to calling or flagging down a cab the technology can be a bit daunting and at first I didn’t really trust paying for my trip up front.
I’ve got used to that.
Now instead of driving to and parking at the airport it’s cheaper to Uber and much more relaxing and convenient.
The drivers really take care of their cars, offering air conditioning and fresh clean environments to travel. They are rated for their service and you can book the same driver in advance if you wish. If you travel and don’t like to hire a car every trip Uber are great because they operate in over 70 countries so doesn’t matter where you are in the world or whether you speak the language once you’ve got the hang of the app your driver is just a click away usually within minutes.
I can see why this global service has become such a hit, if you haven’t downloaded the app yet and had a go I recommend you do.
I like to tip with cash directly, all my drivers have really appreciated it. There is an option to leave a tip on the app if you find yourself short of cash.
My last Uber was a Tesla electric vehicle which was really great. I’d never ridden in one before so got to see what they are like inside and how they drove. It was a very smooth ride.
For dinosaurs like me you download the Uber app from the App Store on your phone, either Google or Apple.
Thanks Uber. I love your service.
