M Hair Nottingham

It’s been a while since I had my hair done at M Hair Nottingham, July 2019.

I had had my hair done there before once by James and because my regular stylist wasn’t available and I needed my Great lengths extensions doing for an event I decided to book in. I don’t live in Nottingham and had had an issue before with the technique used for application before so had a long conversation with salon owner James about cold fusion flat bonding before deciding to make an appointment with Sammy on James’s recommendation.

To cut a long story short my appointment which usually takes approx 3-4 hours was completed in just over 60 minutes and when I felt the extension bonds and discovered they were the rolled bonds I I had specifically said I didn’t want, and questioned this, Sammy told me she had done a mixture of flat cold fusion bonds and rolled bonds.

Of when I got home I wasn’t very happy so did take it up with the salon.

“Morning James, as you know I get my GL hair extensions done regularly and have done for many years. I don’t want to get into this because I am not negative but when I booked with you I asked if Sammy did cold fusion flat bonds because that technique suits my fine hair. You said she did. It only took Sammy 1 hour to put in 100 bonds which are not flat but rolled like they used to put the old glue bonds in. When she had finished and I felt them I questioned that they weren’t flat but round. She said that she had done some flat and some round but I have since felt and they are all round. The flat bonds lay well in my hair and are placed very close to my scalp which means they last longer. These rolled ones feel a bit lumpy and are quite a way from my scalp therefore won’t last as long. I know you say you can charge a premium for being the best but in my experience sadly these are not the best and I have to be honest. Sam was a lovely girl and I enjoyed meeting her. Very best”

Unfortunately the salon were not very receptive to an unhappy client and I ended up having to go somewhere else to have the extensions removed and replaced.

For me the issue was not that something went wrong, of course sometimes things do go wrong. My issue was when I challenged what had happened, with only the facts, instead of listening, apologising and finding a solution they believed they could just not ignore me.

And that’s why 2 years later I needed to RANT.
