MAC The holy grail of the makeup world, am I right? Their vast array of products is indeed like a kaleidoscope of beauty, but as a fellow makeup enthusiast, I totally get the struggle of finding that elusive perfect nude matte lipstick. It's like trying to find a needle in a haystack, isn't it? You know it's there, but it's just not showing its true colours or in this case, the true shade of nude I am craving. And let's face it, MAC has thrown more nude shades into the pool than anyone can count, but they're all playing coy, never quite giving you the full nude experience for me, anyway.
I want something that's like a second skin, a whisper of colour that says, "I'm here, but I'm not trying too hard." But instead, you get a lipstick that screams, "I'm too brown," or "I'm not blending with your complexion," or even "I'm ghosting on you with this lightness!" It's like they're playing a game of cosmic match-making gone wrong. You swipe on what you think is 'the one', and suddenly, you're either a gothic goddess or a pastel dream gone awry. I just wish they would come up with that perfect nude you swipe across your lips that says I am wearing lipstick but I am not, if that makes sense!
I have met many women who are on a constant quest to find the perfect matt nude lipstick and I am sure if anyone can, MAC can, so keep working on it to the end before Charlotte Tilbury comes charging through with her offering, another brand not quite got it right for me yet in the matte nude arena.
