Money couldn’t buy it this time as Elon Musk spends $500M to secure the Republicans votes

I wrote about President Trump after his reelection in 2024 mainly reflecting on an inauguration speech that gave me hope things could be better for Americans and citizens around the world with a strong and united, United States.

I hoped the president could and would bring people together with common sense policies instead his legacy is looking like his is the most corrupt and corrupted family to ever enter the White House.

After the conclusion of US Midterm elections the voting public have completely removed his mandate to lead returning a democratic majority in both the House of Representatives and the Senate. President Trump still has the power to veto law making he doesn’t like but he cannot implement into law anything he wants anymore.

The last two years have been personality politics, never in our history have we had a leader so adapted to making the news, fake or otherwise.

We’ve seen an array of crazy decisions manifest before our eyes, most reasonable people unable to stomach which ever side of the political spectrum you lean towards.

Personally I think the dramatic swing to Democratic voting this midterm is not because Republicans are no longer republicans they just want to see an end to the series of almighty cock ups, poor decisions and injustices happening in plain sight.

We all know governments are corrupt but come on, rounding up your people, locking them up, estranging them from families, businesses and then sending them off on planes without appeal, due process or any hope of returning, what’s up with that? McCarthyism?

Not to mention all the wars, my guns are bigger than yours power plays that have got the Strait of Hormuz shut down and the whole world’s nuts in a vice literally, world economies held to ransom to rising oil prices and the knock on effect that has.

The big question for me now who stands as a mixed race woman, English by nationality but at home in America, not especially political more interested in hope, fairness, and as the Declaration of Independence states, liberty for all, is what someone like President Trump will do next.

JD Vance his second in command immediately went to X to distance himself after the results, blaming the Iran War and looking to salvage what is left of his political aspirations to one day follow in his boss’s footsteps and be handed the keys to the White House. If he stays in post (he can’t be fired) that doesn’t look likely anytime soon.

We all know President Trump dislikes disloyalty above all else so there’s going to be tension in the oval office when they all reconvene and regroup after the blood bath. JD Vance has to swear in the first Muslim senator in history in January. Abdul El-Sayed Senator for Michigan. That’s going to be a bitter pill regardless.

At the moment President Trump is quiet for the first time in his presidency. No media outlet can get near him at a time when everyone not just in America but globally is truly interested in what he has to say.

My big question is what will someone like Donald J. Trump do next. Will he step down and let J.D. Vance take over? Will he spin it. Will he acknowledge the people have said no. We don’t like what you are doing.

A psychologist friend of mine said a narcissist cannot take any kind of personal criticism and without yielding the power that comes from the adoration of people would be unable to operate.

Popularist leaders hang on to power in dictatorships with everything they have, in democracies it’s a little trickier when the people have the opportunity to speak out at the polls in such a unified deafening way.

This midterm vote was not about politics for me it was about a collective sending a loud and clear message to their leader.

It’s time to stop and listen.

The world waits to see what President Trump will do in response. Whether you love the President or despise him, I for one cannot wait to see what that might be.

My world is dance, street, ballet, tap, modern, jazz, contemporary. I spend most my life in the studio in class. When not dancing I like the beach. I like to body board very badly and watch beach volleyball. Married to an American, my college sweetheart. He told me to put that. Born and brought up in Sheffield Yorkshire where my incredible sister Edna lives. We both got involved with this social project to help founder and family friend Shirley. I don’t like the idea of work and images posted online become the sole property of the site you post them on to use as they wish. So we joined forces in the PS community to make change online and build real connections and new family through people we actually know. The vision a new kind of online community controlled and moderated by the community. I am not allowed to vote in the US but I do follow politics and I am very interested in our leaders not just in the US but around the world.
