Well at the wick and wax company in Stamford that person is Sasha. I met her at a local shopping event in the West Country and I was immediately drawn to her simple and stylish candles displayed with pride and confidence.I am a candle lover so I purchased a couple of best sellers she recommended, Botanical and Purity. The candles are beautifully presented in gorgeous high quality tempered glass jars with lids and very high quality boxes, they make a super present.I do like the candles and they offer pretty decent value when you compare them to some of the much more expensive established brands. You also gets the feels for supporting a female led small independent business. The burn wasn’t perfect for one of my candles I have to be honest but that wouldn’t bother everyone and when I mentioned this to Sasha she bent over backwards to replace the candle in question. For the price about £30 for 220g these hand poured eco conscious candles are a great option.Rockpool, Purity and Botanical are my favourites. I love combining vermeil with precious stones to offer my customers something better and more unique than the more aspirational jewellery brands like Monica Vinader. I am lucky to have had some good press in Stylist magazine and a tiny mention in Vogue a few years back. I get to work from our beautiful Georgian townhouse which we struggled to buy 25 years ago and together with my husband (my parents call him that, we are not actually married) Ron, who works in film finance we have renovated and turned into the perfect haven for us. One day at Chelsea town hall maybe. A rockstar wedding maybe is on the cards, followed by the pub, always the Ship on Wandsworth bridge for us and then Bali I think. My dream vacation destination, somewhere I’ve never been and longed for flicking through my monthly Conde Nast Traveller subscription. x Comments are only visible to subscribers.
