Carlos Alvarez and Emma Radacanu Team up for US Open Mixed Doubles 2025

Amidst rumours a tennis romance may be on the cards

We haven’t had a true love story in tennis since Andre Agassi and the brilliant and very funny Stefi Graf got together. They married in 2001 and 24 Years later they have two children and are still happily together.

I digress.

What a great semi final At Queens club where we saw Carlos Alcarez semi final match against fellow Spaniard 38 years old Roberto Bautista Agut where he came out the Victor winning two sets 6-4, 6-4.

The match was actually quite thrilling and closer and more exciting than the score would suggest, but also with the rumours around a potential more than friends relationship blossoming between him and British No. 1 and former US Open champion Emma Radacanu, it was cute to see her watching on with the son of her coach from the Queen club balcony.

It’ll be interesting to see if Emma is there again cheering Carlos on.

I’ve read a few interviews where Alvarez has been asked about his “friendship” with Emma and in his gentlemanly style has always kept his cards close to his chest, suggesting when he asked her if she’d like to team up with him, No. 2 in The world for the reformatted celebrity professional mixed doubles event at the US open in September saying she didn’t respond immediately.

She’s been spotted a few times watching him play, the suggestion there’s anything going on brushed aside with comments from Carlos like if a grand slam final was happening in his homeland Spain he’d be there watching and saying coyly about last years Wimbledon final that he hoped she enjoyed the tennis.

I just watched a super cute video where the pair were on camera talking about their upcoming mixed doubles challenge at the US open this September. I think Carlos definitely likes her, he just needs the confidence aside from his top notch performances on the tennis court to woo the beautiful and bubbly Radacanu.

In the film when asked if they won the toss on court would they serve or receive, Carlos looked at Emma and she said my answer is you’ll decide.

I read tickets for queens club tennis were going for a whopping £495 for the exclusive event on the calendars of London’s who’s who. The event has new sponsors this year HSBC after Cinch last year. I can even remember going as a kid when Stella Artois were the sponsors of the tournament for years.

It’s a super fun event for tennis fans, closed tune station Barrons Court in West London.

It’s the precuser to next week when all eyes will be on SW19 and the Wimbledon championships but for me Queens club tennis is the best tennis event and the most fun and relaxed in the UK.

Queens club always means the summer is here in the UK for me. Wouldn’t miss it for the world.

And if they win in flushing meadows in the US the audience and media interest could surpass The doubles partnership for Spain at last years Olympics, and who’d have thought anything could top Nadal and Alvarez on court together.
