I live on the West side now but still play volleyball at the beach. Lived in Highland for a few years so El Gringo was my favourite go to hole in The wall after a late one at work or for a quick burrito after hanging out at the beach.
This is not Taco Bell, homemade enchiladas and burritos, massive portions and relatively speaking low prices.
It’s located on the corner of Highland and Sepulveda opposite Panchos in Manhattan, although I think the first one was in Hermosa, and in Redondo.
Literally been a customer for more than 20 years. It is not fancy but the food speaks for itself.
My favourite is the loaded nachos. And the beans and rice are unrivalled. I have a friend whose Mom makes us homemade tamales at New Yearand when she visits she always asks to get El Gringo.
