You know the kind of place that has done so many things right, you keep going back, you want to support because you believe things will get better but they just never do, that’s Pennbury Farm. Where it has to be said the chickens that roam and the prize pig penned in the car park are the number one attraction.
I like a bit of ice in my drink but it doesn’t matter who serves me it’s become such an issue I stopped asking for it and then eventually I stopped going.
It’s a shame because there aren’t that many cool casual places for lunch that aren’t complete dumps or where the food is seriously questionable to go to.
They have a great farm shop, a mini type of petting zoo for the kids or other animal lovers, pigs and chickens in the car park to pet, like I say they have done so much right.
It’s just one of those places run by very bossy women and every time we are in the Great Glen Oadby neighbourhood we always say where shall we go to eat. The Grange at Oadby which is like Mrs Caldecott’s Hotel, the menu is very limited and designed for old people, (and so it attracts OAPs at lunchtime) The Italian Greyhound, an “Italian restaurant” but we use the term loosely, the Yews a pub, where we went once and were nearly poisoned by the mushrooms on toast or Pennbury Farm where you need a thick skin because someone might give you a mouthful.
There is definitely an amazing opportunity for someone to open a restaurant.
