Sound like I am the problem I know. The issue for me is we all have to have internet, broadband but when you live in a remote place where no one offers a decent fibre service or connection you just have to pay and suck it up which is what we have been doing with Sky for the last 10 years of so.All has been fine, our speeds are painful sometimes, between 4pm and 8pm forget it and thank goodness we haven’t got invested in a TV package as trying to stream would be a nightmare. We have been a very quiet customer. To be honest we avoid having to call, understanding big companies like Sky now have everything in place to stop you getting to speak to a human.I had to reach Sky, I spent 20 minutes on the app, couldn’t find what I needed, I am sure this is no surprise to other customers, nor could I find a telephone number to speak to anyone. When I did finally find a number I was left on hold listening to every possible suggestion to stop me getting any help from a human, most of the suggestions either weren’t relevant to me or I’d already tried them.I finally got through to a very pleasant chap in Bulgaria but the delay on the line was so bad coupled with his script not to be deviated from and the language barrier it took a long time and some frustration on both ends to actually get done what needed to be achieved. All that needed to happen was a 10 year old router needed replacing but you’d imagine I’d asked for free service for the next tens years how much dancing around the issue was done.I am not leaving Sky, like I said where I live the service is equally poor with other providers but when I do have to speak to customer service it would be hard for the experience to be any worse. I guess the guy I spoke to could have insulted me as well.FYI Sky I do believe in better. On a positive note, the new router has just arrived via DPD in less than 24 hours.
