Candles from LA

BOY SMELLS

Some people buy perfume. I buy candles. And I am always on the look out for the perfect burn, matched with the perfect lasting fragrances. My favourite until recently were Le Labo, a Canadian brand you can find in Selfridges for their heavy lingering perfumes but more recently I have been buying Boy Smells. I was introduced to the brand in the Flannels sale when I picked one up for about £20 reduced from £37.

When you are shopping candles the most important thing I look at is the size or weight of the candle as this determines how long it will burn and thus value of the candle.

I like candles that burn evenly and don’t leave tons of wax waste around the container and Boy Smells burn like a charm, they leave nothing behind. I have been trimming the wicks and burning for a minimum of two hours. Lighting and then blowing out quickly will cause your candle to burn unevenly.

All the scents I have tried so far I have like, some are quite unusual, some more masculine, but the perfumes really hold and linger. Lovely, lovely product.

Boy Smells candles come in two sizes 85g which will give you about 20 hours burn and 240g which last me about two weeks lighting every day.

Good candles are very expensive so always check the weight. If you are looking for cheaper my recommendation would be White Company - burn nicely but you don’t get the powerful fragrance Boy Smells delivers.
