I don’t wear a lot of make up. I am more sporty spice than posh spice. That said I have been seriously considering Victoria Beckham’s Satin Kajal Liner, award winning waterproof longwear eyeliner £32. A friend I go running with has one and I’ve used it a few times in the changing room at the gym after we’ve worked out. It’s nice and doesn’t run even if you get sweaty so definitely waterproof. I follow Victoria on TikTok. She’s always talking about her eyeliner. Usually in the car going somewhere fancy. It comes in loads of shades 21 in total. It has a smudger tool on the end and she almost had me sold.
Then another friend gave me her Velvet Love eyeliner to try from Zoeva Cosmetics. Never heard of them and boy was I shocked. All the same credentials as the Victoria Beckham eyeliner, goes on like a charm, creamy, easy to apply, deep colour pigment, survived my workout and when I went to the website to check how much £18. Honestly couldn’t believe it. The only differences were no smudging tool on the end of the velvet love eyeliner but hey I can live without that, £3.70
cheaper if you buy more than one, and cruelty free and sustainability credentials front and centre of the brand with loads of focus even on the raw materials they use including absolutely no metals (or fish scales to produce shimmer in their metallic shades.) Love that. When I found out about the fish scales in make up it did gross me out.
With Zoeva velvet love eyeliner you get a staggering 29 shades to pick from and it’s a gel formula which feels great and doesn’t drag the eye at all. Also you don’t get the problem of the pencil breaking in the wood and when you sharpen it the lead keeps dropping out. I do the smudging if I want it with my finger.
I had to share Zoeva Eyeliner. I am sure there are literally loads of us girls who only really wear eyeliner and like to mix up the colours. I can’t imagine another pencil eyeliner replacing this one for me. I love Velvet Love gel eyeliner.
