First of all I don’t know what the active ingredients in the Inkey list tripedtide plumping lip balm are (and the reviews on this product online to be fair aren’t great) I was recommended to try it by a friend, I’d noticed her lips looked not necessarily bigger but more hydrated and plump and she told me this is what she’d been using. I paid £11 at boots but I’ve since seen it online, on sale for around £8.00 which may be because a few people have said it’s gritty, not something I have found to be honest. I’ve been using the Tripeptide lip balm for a couple of months and I love it for my lips that definitely look and feel plumped. I put lipliner in nude on first so you get that two tone liner gloss look everyone seems to be wearing at the moment. It comes in four colour options, two other tints, a pinky one, a darker berry colour and a clear balm but I like the mocha because it’s like a combo nude gloss.
I have never had lip fillers, don’t like needles, don’t want them, don’t actually think I need it, I like my lips, not Scarlett Johansson but hey I certainly don’t want to look like a big fish.
I am very outdoorsy, always working out, on the tennis court, running, at the gym, on the slopes in the winter, I like to snowboard so my lips take a battering and it’s probably the one area on my face I need to keep hydrated and moisturised as I am prone to cold sores and dry cracked corners which can be painful. Having a small tube I can keep with me in my pocket to reapply during the day works for me.
The cracked lips is why I keep a tube of Extra strength Orajel in my make up bag too. It’s brilliant for any painful areas or sore spots on your lips.
My other absolute go to lip product is dr. Brandt no more lines. This is a combination hydration lip balm, primer, come filler which I know sounds a bit weird but if like me you don’t want to go anywhere near stretching out your lips with injectables but would like to improve fine lines around them then this baby does the job instantly and can be used under your regular liner, lipstick or gloss, whichever you prefer.
I use all three of these products together, my orajel when and if my lips are injured, which usually happens in the sun or when I go to the snow and the other two every day. The Tripeptide lip plumping Balm I have got addicted to, it’s a lovely product that really gives your natural pout a boost.
You can source the Inkey list lip balm at Sephora or on their website. They currently have an offer on where you can buy all four for about £30 which is a great deal. I think I paid about £15.00 for mine.
